Have you ever had a root canal or tooth pulled?

Describe your experience and how old you were/are when you you went through this...tooth pain is NO JOKE.

I've had many teeth removed and all of them sucked, I had 8 done at one time and had to be put under and the time after that I had 2 removed they didn't do anything for those ones just pulled them out and it hurt and bled but not as much. In a fee weeks I'll be going to get wisdom tooth removed and again will need to be put under. I hate the dentist and often scream and cry going (I'm 18) it's the biggest fear that I have and that's probably why. If you feel irritable or anxious or anything they will more then likely give you a numbing needle or even a sedative depending on the severity of the case, you can always ask for either of these things to make it easier on you.

I have had both of my wisdom teeth pulled at the same time. All they did for me was take a needle,and numb the area. Once it was numb I didn't feel a thing. I did however request a prescription for narcotic pain relief . It wasn't that bad,and it happens so quickly. I do remember hearing the chrunching of my tooth as it was being pulled that was a very weird sound. Good luck,and remember to ask for pain meds not everyone is the same.

I had wisdom teeth pulled when I was in middle school or early high school. Because I was a minor they actually put me to sleep, that was an option at that dentist. So i don't remember anything about it. But I did get dry sockets afterwards which sucked but I took like Motrin 6s or something similar and slept a lot until they healed.
I've also had two root canals, those really aren't a big deal. I normally use laughing gas because I get really anxious otherwise. I can actually metabolize the entire numbing shot before they are done without it because I get so anxious. So between the shot and laughing gas, you don't feel anything. Depending on what tooth it is, sometimes you aren't even that numb after.

Before having my braces installed, I had to have four teeth removed. The reason they were removed was because they grew in the wrong place and were baby teeth that hadn't fallen out. (Two at the top, towards the back on each side, and two on the bottom row.) The procedure took place a year ago and from what I can remember, the only thing that was painful for me were the shots. They gave me five of them in order to numb me. Afterwards, I didn't feel anything besides pressure, which is extremely uncomfortable. Once the medication worn off, I was fine.

I had to get one of my back teeth pulled, it was causing me so much pain. I was GRATEFUL when they finally pulled it out!

They kept trying to fill it but the filling would just come out in pieces when I ate and the pain would get worse! Eventually I said "no more filling!!! please pull it!" I was willing to pay any cost! 200 bucks well spent!

I had my two bottom wisdom teeth pulled when I was 28 weeks pregnant. My gum became infected and that bitch hurt!! I went unmedicated (local anesthetic) and those bad boys came out perfectly. Look at that bastard!
