Unless you're feeling very bad, you just have to get through it. I'm sure most girls in school deal with it & if they could just leave while they're on their period, there'd be less drama & fights but oh well, it's life.

I just get through it unless I end up in the bathroom getting sick. I did it all through high school and university and now in my career. Unless I physically cannot be where I need to be then I'm there. Sure I feel horrible and am in a lot of pain, but I'm not about to let my period dictate my life.

My mom trashes me if I don't go to my badminton classes during periods. She constantly reminds me that i get selected for the competitive games, I will have to play despite being in pain or in poor health and then she quotes examples of her sister who had to painfully bear through it with stamina, breathing problems, low energy levels etc and there was no escape  including periods problems Those were the times when proper sanitation like pads were not known. So I consider myself very lucky.
Anyway, I do what I feel like. Most of the time I skip badminton on first day, or I take meds and continue. 
For now, I can listen to myself because I am not in the competition.

You need to just deal with it unless you are in EXTREME pain. I have endometriosis and if it's really acting up and I can't focus, I go home. It's not worth it to me to stay when I'm not being productive. You have a period every month and that's life, you can't just expect a free pass

I'm in college and had to have my husband brings me home during my last period because the cramps were so bad. I always have awful cramps, and the only thing that helps is a hot bath. Obviously I can't have that in class. I cried the entire car ride home (45 mins) and told my husband "forget having a baby, I NEED to get back on the pill" because I was in so much pain.

I always carry a sanitary pouch with me where I hold my pads, sanitary napkins, perfumes, stuff like that. If you experience pain try buying pain meds, or sometimes birth control helps with a lot. Also if you have P.E classes explain that you aren't feeling well and sit out for the day (explain to your gym teacher they always understand trust me).

If it's really bad, I might skip my classes for the first or second day. I missed a lot of band classes in high school because my periods were so strong and painful. I can usually get through, though.
