I've known my best friend since I was 15. I was introduced through a previous relationship that ended badly and he saw me through it. He's actually seen me through near all of my relationships. I always had a little crush on him and it grew over time. Unknown to me, he's liked me ever since he met me too. We never knew until fairly recently (we thought we friendzoned each other and never brought up the subject before).

We talk about getting together fairly often now but he's in California and I moved to Pennsylvania at the beginning of the year so we don't live close by to each other anymore. We're both cuddly, affectionate people when it comes to relationships so the distance is kind of sad. We trust each other with everything though. He's probably the only person I know that I completely trust not to cheat or use me even with being on opposite sides of the country.

The biggest thing I'm afraid of is suppose he and I became boyfriend and girlfriend and one of us started to love the other and the other decided friendship was the way to go and want to break off the relationship.

I spoke to him about it already and he said we'd just communicate and come to some conclusion depending on where the relationship was at. I don't really have a problem with that, it's reasonable. But I'm still kind if nervous about it. . .

Is there anyone who is or has dated their best friend who can tell me the pros and cons of their relationship to help me figure out mine? Thanks
