First ultrasound at 12 weeks?

Is it ok to get your first ultrasound at 12 weeks? My dr office said they'll take you at 8 weeks and do a transvaginal and abdominal ultrasound but I've read about women having miscarriages shortly after transvaginal ultrasounds (could be a coincidence) and I just think at 12 weeks we'll be able to see a more developed baby and be sure to hear the heartbeat. I'm low risk, first pregnancy so I don't think it would be risky.. opinions??

Between 5 and 10 weeks I had four internal ultrasounds due to having a hematoma, it didn't cause any issues and baby's doing great.

Mine did an transvaginal u/s and 7w2d to make sure baby was in the right place as its my first pregnancy, and to get an idea of babys due date and how far along they're measuring. Its not necessary, but it helped relieve a lot of the stress i had about maybe having an ectopic or it being all in my head. Im 10w1d now and feel fine, had no side effects and am going in friday for my next u/s

In England you only get a scan at 12 and 20 weeks. Baby looks more baby like at 12 weeks. All measurements can be taken properly too. It's definitely ok to wait

Mine doesn't even do an ultrasound until 10-12 weeks.
