jr or no jr?

my fiance hates his name well he doesn't hate it but I love it and if its a boy I want it to be a Jr but he doesn't but we both made the agreement if its a boy I name it if its a girl he names it but I wanna know what y'all think

I feel like the point of a Jr. is the father passing something to his son. If dads not on board 100%, I'd say don't do it.

My husband is a Jr and he doesn't like his name because it's so common in the Hispanic community (José Luis) so we will not be having a José Luis III. LOL. actually he doesn't like "recycled" names at all. :(

I feel like if he doesn't like his name and genuinely does not want a JR, I wouldn't name the baby after him.

If he doesn't like his name, I wouldn't do it. I'd feel bad give our baby a name I knew his dad hated. 
Maybe you guys could compromise and find a 1st name you both like and do dads name as baby's middle name? You could still call him jr but dad would at least like the name then
