First time 12 hour night shifts???🤤🤤🤤

Hi ladies! I recently landed a job as a cna doing 12 hour shifts 6-6:30. I did second shift 8 hours before and used to work 10-12 hour shifts in a factory before being pregnant. I have felt great during my pregnancy and the job is only 3 days a week and more money. I can't really refuse the offer! Just wondering if anyone has any tips for surviving my first 12 hour night shifts? lol I think I will be ok but I know I will be whipped. Any advice?

I used to do night shift as an RN and I LOVED it! The first week is a little rough, but you get used to it quickly. I worked 7pm-7am. What I would do is take a nap in the afternoon before my first shift for like 4 hours. Then wake up, go to work, no coffee after 1AM (when I took lunch), and then go to sleep as soon as I got home. I personally would sleep until 1pm or so, but I know other nurses who would sleep until around 4pm. I did fine on that amount of sleep, since it's only 3 nights a week. And I liked having time to get stuff done during the day still. Make sure you bring snacks for the car ride home. I really struggled staying awake on my drive (i lived 45 minutes away from that hospital) for the first week or two. Having a snack for the ride home did wonders with keeping me awake.
