As I'm sure many of you are aware, Houston has been devastated with flooding. Thousands have been displaced from their homes.

Tonight the City of Houston implemented a mandatory curfew from midnight until 5 am.

I think this is absolutely necessary in order to prevent looting of homes that are already destroyed by flooding. I know this won't prevent all crime, but I think this will definitely lessen the crime that would have occurred.

There's no reason to be out at this time anyways unless you are part of a rescue effort. Restaurants and stores were open for a very limited time today. Even in areas unaffected by flooding.

Do you think this is right to implement curfews on cities in the event of disasters?

As an added question, do you think there are other circumstances when it would be right for a curfew be implemented?
