If your child's father was in and out for the 2 years of your sons life then finally quit coming around for months would you just not let him see the child anymore? He has really never helped financially either.

My son's "dad" was around until his 2nd birthday and then quit coming around, calling, nothing at all. So now, over a year later, I would never allow him to see my son if he was to ever ask. My son wouldn't even know who he is and that's just pathetic.

Answer

Could you get him to sign his rights away? And depends on the situation but generally I would not let him around the child. It will only confuse the child as they get older.
