FTM in need of advice........

So

Hi guys I'm having a hard time making a decision about my 13 months old son.

I've been reading a lot about toilet training since waaaayyy before my baby was born. I contemplated the idea of doing "elimination communication" but never got around it since after giving birth I had other medical problems myself. Now that my baby is 13 months I want to start teaching him the toilet routine by buying him a potty and have him go "potty" with daddy and I. A lot of my friends and family think I'm crazy and that my baby is too young. His developing pretty good, walked at 10 months, listens & obeys when we want him to do or not do something. He loves attention and always tries to do things to make ppl praise him. Can someone please tell me I'm not crazy for trying to introduce the potty at this age. I would also appreciate any tips from parents who had good and bad experiences while introducing the potty at an early age.

Sorry this was so long and thanks in advanced 😊

UPDATE:

We bought a potty and so far he likes to sit on it. Since I'm a stay at home mom and hubby will be off from work for the next two weeks we plan to start potty training and see how it goes. If it works great, if not then we'll try it later on.

Thanks for all the comments!!
