Are baby showers/gender reveals for women?

My boyfriend and I were arguing because I don't think baby showers are strictly for women and I wanted him to be apart you know to have a good time and do the gift reviving and games etc... but he said I'm not going and I explained to him that that makes me mad that you don't want to go and be there for me and our baby and family and friends and he's like baby showers are for women and personally I think that's extremely sexist then he finally said whatever I'll just go I don't want to argue about this but if I happen to be misconstrued and they are strictly for women I don't want to force him to go

Shower for women, & I see nothing wrong with co-ed gender reveal that's what I did & my brothers were excited to learn what I was having too!

I've been to showers that were for just women, and showers that were for men and women, but at all of them the dad was there, which makes sense because it's his baby too and opening up the gifts and such should be something for him to experience too. My baby shower will have everyone invited, men, women, and children, just because I feel like it's more of a celebration of my baby than anything, and shouldn't be exclusive to just women

I think a baby shower is however you make it! I always see the woman doing like the shower part and the men doing like a diaper party. Pretty much all of his guys friends or guys would bring a pack of diapers and wipes and in return u have beer and games for them and u also have the shower part going on for the ladies with the gifts and the cute stuff but it gets everyone involved and makes the men want to be there. Traditional baby showers no most men set up but then leave and come back when it's done to help clean up most men don't like sitting through baby showers

Old fashioned is women only, I think it's becoming more popular and modern to do what you want, including co-ed showers. Especially if it's a gender reveal those definitely are the whole family.

I hit the no button, I meant everyone! My husband was very interested in the whole process so to make it less awkward for him we invited all the husbands, fathers, etc and added a beer cooler lol.

They're for whomever you want them to be for. Some people do women only, but others do coed. I wouldn't force him to be involved if he had no interest, though. You can have plenty of fun with just the ladies - - better than having him there & not into it.
