It took me many years because the relationship was awful. I got over the person in about a moth because I realized how awful they actually were. But the relationship left huge wounds that took a lot to heal. My current relationship has helped a lot to cope with the awful past relationship.

everyone is different and depends on circumstances of break up as well I was with my husband 9 yrs we split July last year after putting me through severe emotional abuse with 2 occasions of physical over those 9 yrs....the emotional got worse august 2014 few months after our wedding after I had an ectopic pregnancy of non identical twins one in the womb the other in my tube I obv lost both he blamed me for loosing them and he put me through hell because of it so anyway we split in the July end of august I found a guy I'd met 12 yrs previously (we say childhood sweethearts though I was 17 he 23) we had a thing then but had lost contact on him going into the army we had always had a strong connection and in September we became a couple and I couldn't be happier he is the love of my life and I his together at last.....so I was rather quick but others can take a lot longer everyone is different

that is an objective question to answer as everyone is different. what may be a shorter tome for some may be longer for others. all i know is that time heals all things, and to trust in it, however long it takes.

Its been about 9 months and still not fully over the father of my kid. I will still be in a relationship with him in a heartbeat
