Hip pain suggestions??

Question

Any suggestions for relieving hip pain other than PT? My doctor only wanted to recommend PT but I'm not trying to spend an arm and a leg

PT has been the only thing that's helped me... it's expensive, but IMO it's worth it. My pain was so bad I could hardly walk. I think after visit 2 it was almost gone, now I just go for maintenance every 2 weeks.

Hip pain is definitely difficult. I've been struggling with hip pain from long standing hip dysplasia and arthritis, which has definitely become more severe during the pregnancy! I've found that what makes the most difference is what mattress I'm sleeping on. Old spring mattresses ruin my hips, so the adequate support is crucial (for me, firm but not too hard.) Other than that, what shoes I wear makes a big difference. Sneakers nearly take away the pain, versus flats. Wish I had more advice, I know it's difficult!
