Pap test + HPV test?

When you get a Pap test do they automatically test for HPV? My doctor told me I have abnormal cells but never said if I tested positive for HPV. She schedule me for a colposcopy.
I tested negative for all other STIs and during my pap she said that everything looked/felt normal (ie no warts, etc).

Most do. in the clinic I work in the hpv test is automatically part of the pap test when we order it.

When you get a Pap smear they test for everything. I had the same thing, had abnormal cells and they said it was HPV. I had a colposcopy done, and it came back normal. So basically I have cancer cells but they're not abnormal or something and I just have to keep an eye and get a Pap smear every year just to make sure everything is okay.

HPV isn't required with every pap if they've been normal. I can't remember how often it's recommended when there's no history of abnormal cells because it just recently changed.
