Breastfeeding after wisdom teeth removal??

Question

So my son is EXCLUSIVELY breastfed baby...And when I went for a consultation with the oral surgeon and he advised me not to breastfeed for 24 hrs after the procedure because of the levels in general anesthesia and meds I could be taking. He told me to make sure with my baby's pediatrician and they also told me it would be the safest idea. I have no problem with pumping and dumping and pump prior my surgery but I am concerned because my 7 month old son will not take a bottle. What do you mommys suggest? I have about a month or so to plan ahead before it being done so any recommendation would be appreciated thank you! 🙂😩

Have someone try the bottle while you aren't in the room, if baby smells you they won't take a bottle

I had to have 3 wisdom teeth removed that were sideways and embedded,  I never knew local anesthesia was an option for wisdom teeth removal until talking with a colleague who had it done to save money. I opted to do local anaesthesia to have 3 of my wisdom teeth removed  vs general anesthesia after my baby was born. One Dr said I needed general due to teeth being turned completely sideways, got a second opinion and asked again about local anesthesia. The Dr knew I was breastfeeding and prescribed a "safe" dose of Tylenol codeine after. Maybe I was paranoid but I only took 1 dose because I thought it made my baby sleep longer than usual. So essentially I recovered on regular Tylenol and ice packs. It was definitely scary doing it with the local anesthesia mainly because I could hear everything, but I'd still choose to go the route I did but with headphones lol.

My nearly 7 month old wouldn't take a bottle. At 6 months I tried him with water in a sippy cup and he took it no problems. I then tried expressed BM and he then took that no problems as well. We also got him taking milk from a doidy cup

Start introducing a bottle now. Sometimes babies won't take to certain bottles so it's trial and error. Honestly though, you could even try a sippy cup. He may have trouble going back to the breast though if he isn't using a nipple like bottle. But it's something to think about too.
