Toddler mattress yet?

Question

Has anyone flipped their mattress to the toddler side or started using a toddler mattress? We're on vacation and my MIL got a toddler mattress instead of an infant mattress by accident, and since my son is walking and super strong I didn't fight it. Well he has been sleeping like a log - great all night and super long naps. I can't tell if it's just the fun and stimulation of vacation or the mattress but I'm thinking of flipping his mattress at home to the toddler side because of it. Anyone else do this yet?

WAIT? Mattresses have different sides?!? I totally flipped my sons mattress the other night when I was changing the sheets because the thought came across my mind "oh, if you're supposed to turn adult mattress so often maybe I should turn his" and he's been waking up multiple times at night when he's normally an amazing sleeper! He is definitely teething so I didn't even think that it could be the mattress. But oh man now I'm going to go check! I had never heard of a mattress having two different kinds of sides!

I did, just to see if there's a difference in her sleep. didn't do shit.. so I flipped it back. toddler side is SLIGHTLY softer.. that's all. babies need a firm mattress till about 1 years old. I honestly think the double side mattress doesn't work as it should work. for that reason,  when our daughter will officially be a toddler,  I'm buying a toddler mattress, instead of turning mine over.
