Why no Cervix Check?

Question

I see everybody getting their cervix checked. Hell i got 17 days left and my obgyn haven't checked yet. I dont know if dilated at all. I'm so over being pregnant. Wish she would check my cervix so i can know if im close to having him. My attitude is getting real moody at this point because im very bored. Why won't she check my cervix hell?

You can be 5cms for weeks. Dilation doesn't mean anything unless you're actually in labor.

Getting your cervix checked actually doesn't do anything. Nothing good or anything bad. It may say if you've dilated any BUT you can stay dilated or not dilated at the time of check up until labor so...
I asked but to me and got shocked at 36 weeks and honestly I don't even care to ask anymore. It doesn't even matter.

With my first they never checked.  I didn't know it was even a thing lol! With this one, I have been checked 3 times.  It's painful and doesn't tell you much. I was 2cm, 2cm and then 3cm.  If anything, I feel like it makes you more anxious. Good luck and if you feel like you want them to check I would ask.  I have heard some doctors don't like to do them because it can bring on false Labor.  I have had a lot of that too and I never had that with my first.

38 weeks +2 and I haven't had my checked. They're not checking me until Wednesday.

My doctor won't either I'm due in 18 days and still know nothing cause I wasn't checked I'm moody and upset and feeling like he's never coming out 😩

My midwife is doing a pelvimetry exam at my next appointment but told me she won't check me until 41 weeks (if I go that far) unless I request it. There really isn't a reason to be checked and it can introduce bacteria that would create an infection so that's why my midwife doesn't do them!

I get checked every week and its kore frustrating that not... every week I get told no change, and I'm due in a week. 🙄

I was 39 weeks and 2 days and only a CM it was almost more disappointing to be told it was pretty much nothing. You can dilate 0-5 in hours or be 5cms for weeks. I know it seems like it's so important to know but I guess it really isn't. 😭
