I was a nanny for twin toddlers when I was 16/17. I drove them around, I fed them, I put them to sleep, I implemented a structured schedule all by myself. I was with them more than their parents were and I never had any type of issues. This isn't to say that every 16 year old was as responsible and mature I was, but I wouldn't let age deter you from hiring someone to care for your kids.

My MIL is very "air headish," and all out unaware of what's going on around her. My husband and I have gone out to dinner a few tomes this last year and we have her come to our house and our two 11 year olds basically are the ones who babysit our 3 and 1 year old. They play with them and make sure things are safe till we get back while my MIL sits on her phone. She's really only here so we don't get CYFD called on us and in case an emergency happened (HOPEFULLY) she would know what to do. So yes, I would. Sometimes a 16 year old, or in my case, 11 year olds are more mature and able than a 65 year old.

I have a sister 13 years older than me. I watched my niece and nephews all the time. I was 10 for the first so didn't spend any alone time with him but I was 13 by my second nephews birth and I watched them all the time. Just depends on the person. I obviously got experience early on so it was easy to me.

I'm 16 and I babysit kids from 6 months-10 years old. Honestly it depends on the parent being okay with it and how the child behaves.

I wouldnt let anyone besides family and friends, that I trust with my life, watch my kids. I do not trust anyone these days. too many kids getting hurt.
