earliest Latin translation of the Bible

April👓🐠எப்ரெல் • Old married fat lady

A fourth-century Latin Bible and commentary was recently authenticated and translated five years after it was found. The manuscript had been lost for 1500 years. The text of the Gospels included in this Bible is markedly different than the next-oldest surviving text, the Vulgate, upon which most translations are based. This version is by a North African bishop named Fortunatianus. The finished English translation is available at https://www.degruyter.com/viewbooktoc/product/469498 for free. Do the noticeable differences in the text matter to those of you who are religious?
