Something in nappy/urine?

Changed bubs nappy this morning (16 wks) and found this - he seemed fine but I was alarmed, I have never seen this before. It was more orangey than red - could it be blood? Has anyone seen this before?

Hard to tell from the pic but it could be urate crystals (sometimes called brick dust). It's common in newborns, and can sometimes indicate dehydration in older babies. Might be worth a quick call to your doc if you are feeling concerned!
