So today at work I had someone say to me "I bet your baby will be black" when she found out I was pregnant. This really upset me. Not because skin color matters to me but because why would you make that assumption? You literally would not say it to anyone else. And so what if they are? What's it to her? My baby's father is from Spain so she'll be half Spanish and half Caucasian (not sure if that is the right word, correct me if I am wrong) but they will still be white. It just makes me upset that she just assumed that. That was a really racist thing to say.
