the question here is simple. there's so many of us that put hard work into nurseries and yet, they mostly go unused because baby ends up not wanting to sleep in crib right away. after spending thousands on our nursery, I ended up reading online, many mom articles on how their nursery was usless from day 1. by the time our daughter FINALLY slept in her crib, she was old enough (6 months old ) to crawl and even pull up. she did not spend any time in the glider chair with me, we changed her only on the floor, because she moved too much. she hated being away from us. so at 6 months old, we redecorated the nursery and made her own room to play in. room makes so much sense now, with no chair, swing, changing table etc.
