Nursing to sleep..?

Question

Is anyone still nursing their babies to sleep? No judgement here! My son is almost 8 months old and still wants to be nursed to sleep. He can eventually fall asleep without it, especially in the car or stroller but if I'm around and able to he'd much rather be nursed.. And I don't plan on doing the cio method so please don't mention it. ✌

I do! And I don't feel I owe any nay sayers an explanation. I enjoy snuggling with my girl and so does she. Someday shes gonna be starting kindergarten and this is gonna be one of my "remember when" thought clouds floating above my head as I follow the bus to school and sob.

I guess we are in that boat too, kinda 🙋🏼 I don't nurse him to sleep during the day. It's just that when he wakes up at night I usually assume he is hungry. We usually try replacing the pacifier first and see if he goes back to sleep and it used to work... recently he was sick, started a leap, started crawling, erupted 2 new teeth and learned about separation anxiety. Needless to say, we are firmly in that 8 month sleep regression and trying aaaanything that works.

I do! Anakin is slowly growing out of it though... Last night he put himself to sleep and tonight looks like its going the same... (not cio, like put in bed with a night dipe on and full belly because he just wants to play around and it's bed time... if he crys I nurse him some more and cuddle him a bit until he is either sleeping or ready to be done with boob ond cuddles...) you don't see older kids tipically nursing to bed still, they out grow it eventually it just all depends on babe and mom

I just did this tonight for what I think will be the last time and just sobbed 😭 I decided to quit nursing after we took a vacation w/o baby and dealt with having to randomly pump during the day. We have another trip at the end of the month and didn't want to do the same thing plus he is completely fine using a bottle on his own and taking one before bed. He doesn't need the boob to fall asleep anymore but I just did it to "take in the moment" one last time. Anyone else super emotional about this like me?? He will be 8 months on 9/16.

I stopped at about 4/5 months. I did the gentle method if you're looking to stop the nursing to sleep. It took 3 nights now she falls asleep on her own but I do nurse her before bed. 
I wouldn't do cry it out either. So basically when baby cries you pick them up and rock them until they are drowsy again then set them down. Let them cry for a minute and then pick up and repeat. I picked her up probably 100 times the first night and 50 the second, 3rd night I set her down and she rolled over and went to sleep. She's been that way ever since. You'll need a lot of patience and willpower lol. You can't speak or engage with baby when you pick them up, not even eye contact. Just rocking and "shhh"ing.

I do and he still sleeps with me and nurses all night to stay asleep 😩 tried sleep training at six months and it was a nightmare, starting to think about doing it again 8/9 months! I have no problem soothing to sleep..... but I just need them to detach when it's time 😬 I sleep trained my daughter who woke every half hour of the night ...but once she was sleep trained I still soothed her to sleep until she was 2! Haha.

I did with my daughter and do with my son! I hate cry it out. With her I started to stop at 12 and by 14/15 months she was done nursing and just falling asleep next to me so I'm going to aim for the same thing and hope he's as easy as her !

i use to. but now I still nurse him before sleep but he just go drowsy but still awake, so when he stop eating I put him in his crib, he's still awake but I know he'll sleep. I give him kisses goodbye and walk away. he whine but no cry. and fall asleep. I didnt plan to do it that way, that just happened. i was used to nurse him to sleep, so the first time he didnt fall alseep on the boob i continue to nurse him until he fall asleep because i tought if i putted him in is crib awake he would cry. but no. 😊 dont know if that help you haha.

we weren't able to breastfeed but a bottle is still a part of our bedtime routine. I just feel more comfortable sending her to bed knowing she has a full belly. she usually doesn't fall asleep during the bottle but then she'll burp and snuggle for a few minutes. then I put her down with her lovey, tell her I love her and walk out (and watch on the monitor 🙄) she usually rolls around a bit until she's comfy and is out within 15 minutes. I figure when she's older we'll just cross that bridge when we get there 😋 but I remember having a cup of milk before bed for a very long time so I don't think it's too big of a deal
