Hurricane Jokes-Are they funny?

Since Harvey, I’ve seen MANY jokes about hurricanes on here. Personally, I think they’re disgusting and would love if people would shut up and stop making jokes about something so horrid. However, some think it’s funny and all in good fun. What do y’all think?

Yes, this is personal to me. Here’s my story and why I don’t find hurricane jokes funny. I’m located in the coast in TX and there is still water in my home. I found out when I kayaked it to yesterday. Yes. Kayaked. After emergency evacuating my home last Sunday, my family and our pets went to a friend‘s home who had never flooded. Tuesday night/Wednesday morning, a neighbor picked us up in his boat and brought us down the street to a a 2 story home, actually a house I used to live in, where the water was neck deep. Keep in mind it’s under 60F and storming still. The Cajun Navy recused us Wednesday morning via boat. We were brought to a shelter where we were put outside in the rain and wind because we had a dog. 2 and a half hours later, complete strangers came and got us and welcomed us into their home. Thursday morning we left due to a mandatory evacuation. I’m currently stranded in Lafayette because there’s no rental cars, and my whole family all lost their cars. This is as summed up as I can put it. Somehow, I just can’t find anything funny about a hurricane that has taken everything but what we could carry from us. 🤷🏽‍♀️
