How long should we TTC for before I should go get checked ..?

My husband and I have been TTC for 7 or 8 months now, and every month is a failure🙁. 
My friend conceived within 3 months. 🤕
I just feel like idk maybe we should have succeeded by now..?
How long should we continue to TTC for before we should worry..?

usually doctors will see you when you've been trying for a year, but I seen in here that some do at 13 months
in my experience they seen me at 1 year so it doesn't hurt to see if they will take you!
