Paci when teething?

My son only has bottom teeth and has probably taken a paci 5 times in his life. He has been screaming on and off of the past 2 days and only settles when we give him the paci. It's mostly at night between 5 and 6 o'clock. 
Anyone think it might be his top teeth? He hates when I look in his mouth so it's been rough to visibly see.

My son loves his when his teeth are sore at night. I think it's because he grinds his teeth/gums to soothe the ache. He also tends to get a stuffy nose when his teeth are bad so the sucking/swallowing helps clear the mucus down when he's trying to sleep.

My daughter is doing the same thing! She always hated the paci but now she wants it all the time! Try sticking a clean finger in his mouth and see if you can feel anything. I also wet washcloths and put them in the freezer, that seems to help.
