First ultra sound questions?

Will my first ultra sound tell me exactly how far along I am? 
What else should I expect from my first ultra sound? 
Any questions I should ask the doctor while I'm there?

I didn't know about a dating scan I guess I'll have to ask a lot of question. All I know is I'm getting an ultrasound

Is it a dating scan?
If yes, they will measure the baby from crown to rump and use the size to work out exactly how far along you are. 
You might get to hear the heartbeat if you're far enough along :)
That's about all that they do! Depending how far you are, the baby will probably look like a blob, not much to see yet 😊
