Hurricane Irma!!!

Shaulia

So living in the Caribbean all my life Hurricanes are something that we deal with every year, but this will be the first major hurricane that I will be going through that I will remember (the last major hurricane was Hurricnae Marylin in 1995 I was born in 1993 making me only 2 lol) and the first one being almost 7 months pregnant. Irma is scheduled to pass just north of St. Thomas US Virgin Islands (where I live) tomorrow as either a Category 4 or 5 and I am super nervous. We have prepared and boarded up so there is nothing more that we can do but wait but it's so hard to not be anxious. Just needed somewhere to vent and share!! Hope that all the mommys to be in the Florida/Carolina area are getting prepared because Irma seems to be coming for vengeance!

UPDATE:

It's been 5 days since Hurricane Irma hit the Virgin Islands and other Caribbean islands with a vengeance that we did not anticipate and I am happy to say that the recovery efforts in have begun but we could use so much more help. We have began to evacuate the more than 4,000 tourists that were stranded during the storm. We lost lots in the storm hundreds of people have lost their roofs or homes entirely, our hospital lost the fourth floor which fully collapsed in, many government buildings are without roofs and schools at least partially damaged. Thanks to everyone who sent their blessings during the storm and will keep you all posted on more of the recovery efforts. I know that Florida will be starting their recovery efforts shortly as the storm passes through them.
