so im pregnant and my mil asked what we are gonna call the baby ... and i threw some of the names around that we like. "seth" "cooper" and "nova" for a girl. she said she knew a seth and he was feral, we already have a cooper in the family and if i name the baby nova it will get bullied. i felt like saying fuck you but i didnt.

My brother in-law said the name we chose for a girl was "ghetto" and that the name we chose for a boy was stupid because he has 2 middle names. First off you already have children and got a say in their name so fuck off the kids not yours, secondly no I'm not using your family's names because all of you are assholes. We chose Genevieve René Margoux Scaife for a girl and Isaac Webster Beauregard Scaife for a boy, we found out we're having a son but I'm not changed his name for anyone my SO and I love it.

Both my MIL and FIL HATED our daughter's name and always bashed the spelling of it. We named her what we wanted anyway☺️ They shut up real quick when they learned we weren't changing it. Her name is Saydee💕

Oh my goodness girl I had my baby and when I came home my MIL came and while holding my child said "you could have picked a better name. There's so many nice names out there and you had to name him Julian" I honestly wanted to tell her to leave but I didn't.

dont worry about your MIL opinion. just do what you want. my MIL said she didnt like the name Lilah but once i made it clear it was staying she changed her mind and told me it was quite pretty

Just don't tell them. Simple as that. We didn't tell them with our first until birth, and we are not telling them this time.
If the comments get annoying, say will decide between two "names" (make some up) and then just don't use them. But it pacifies them for a bit. Maybe say names you think they'd like just so they shut up. 
Or, just keep saying "we don't know yet" or "we won't decide until birth".
