All of the above and more. "The talk" isn't a one time thing.  It's a constant check-in with your SO to be sure that everyone is still "on the same page."  Everyone changes and grows at different rates, and it's important to make sure that you and your partner are transparent and open about their feelings about the relationship.

Depends on the relationship. For us, "the talk" would refer to us going over rules for his other girlfriend and for my fwb. Maybe changing a rule for circumstances, expressing our feelings on it, and coming to a common ground.
