Is there complications with trying again right after miscarriage?

I currently lost my baby at 8 weeks. I had seen the heartbeat twice and one night I felt strange. I went into the ER and there was no heartbeat. I was devastated. I didn't have a D&C.; I'm wondering when we can start trying again. Doctor told me 3 months, but that seems too long! Is there complications in getting pregnant right away after a mc?

I didn't wait, because my doctor told me there was no reason to wait if I was ready to try again. My miscarriage happened around 5-6 weeks though, and I passed everything naturally. I got pregnant again right away without waiting a cycle. I'm now almost 20 weeks with a healthy pregnancy. I would always follow instructions from your doctor, though.

I had a D&C; at 8 weeks and was advised to wait to try again until after my first period. It seems like the "three month" recommendation is an older one. I got pregnant after my first period and am currently just shy of 28 weeks with a healthy, uncomplicated pregnancy.

Usually not. He says three months because that gives your period time to come back regularly. It took exactly this long for my period to become regular and for us to conceive again. He also says three months to give your cervix time to close (prevention of infection through intercourse) and uterus time to shrink back down to normal size.
