Anyone work at a bank?

I got a letter from my bank saying they'll be crediting me $300 due some lawsuit they had. But, I've defaulted on the credit card because I wasn't able to pay it back after I got divorced, that was my only lifeline at that time because I only had about 2-300 left after my check:(

Will the bank automatically take that credit of 300 and put it towards the credit card? I tried to call and ask but they didn't know for sure. I assume that they will
