Did you give birth with the aid of an epidural?

No shame zone... I just would like to hear of your birthing experiences, specifically the pain levels you dealt with.

#1- Epidural with the 1st it was amazing!!! My contractions were on top of each other and I swore I saw the grim reaper sitting in the rocking chair of my birthing room. Labored for 11hrs. 
#2- I had precipitous labor and had no time for an epidural. I didn't know I was in labor until my body decided to push. I didn't have any pain until I realized I was in labor 😫. The mind is powerful. I labored for 2hrs. My 1st contraction came at 430am and he was out at 630. 
#3- SO caused my water to break😑. No contractions. Get to hospital no pain, having contractions (strong ones but can't feel them😑).   I go in at 3.5cm labor for four hours only get to 4cm. Bounce on that stupid birthing ball and my labor stalls. I get to 5cm and baby decides it's time for a nap. Contractions weaken and slow down😑😒🖕🏾. We agree to use pitocin and I opted for a shot of Stadol. Needless to say pitocin is the devil, I went from 5 to birth within the hour. My daughter came so fast my dr delivered her with non sterile gloves on one hand. 
The stadol didn't kick in until after birth🙄. Labored for 8hrs.

During my pregnancy I thought I wanted no epidural. I began to reconsider once my labor started. It wasn't too bad at first. But after a few hours it was really getting to me. The pain was really concentrated in my lower back. I'd only progressed from 4cm to 6cm in 8 hours, I had been in labor for 24 hours and hadn't been able to get any sleep at all in that time. That was when I decided to get the epidural. Best decision every. I was a little nervous when I felt the needle go in, but it didn't hurt. I could feel the first contraction after getting the epidural just a little, but nothing after that. Then I was able to get some rest. They told me they wanted me to still be able to feel something, but the epidural was  a bit too strong, I literally could not feel anything. Even when it came time to push - Absolutely nothing. I was ok with that though.

First one, had a midwife, no epidural, son was posterior, had horrific back labor, 12 hours....it fucking sucked.
Second pregnancy was twins, at hospital, epidural, 4 hr labor, vaginal delivered both of them....would honestly wish that labor and delivery on any woman, it was a breeze.

I chose an epidural with all 3 births. The primary reason for my choice is that I have some issues with my hip which is painful anyway. My first epidural came out, which turned out to be because I am missing a vertebrae, they just didn't know at the time. My other 2 births went beautifully since they knew where to put the epidural. The 2nd was 4.5 hours of labor and the 3rd was 4 hours. I think it's a very personal decision and you have to make it based on your body and your mind. Epidurals are the way to go for me, but definitely not for everyone.

I got an epidural when I was dilated to about a six. So I was feeling contractions beforehand. I could still feel the contractions after the epidural as pressure but I wouldn't say they were painful. I was glad I could feel them though because it made it easier when it was time to push. So I definitely wasn't completely numb. I thought it was great and I will definitely get one next time.

epidural as soon as I got admitted. was 1 cm and fully effaced. was in mid contraction while it was given to me. did not feel the numbing shot. did not feel the epidural shot. epidural worked within minutes. 3 hrs active labor , 4 pushes,  she was born. did not feel any pain, just mild presure. was able to push the right way. no pain after  no long term pain from the epidural. the secret behind an epidural,  is the anesthesiologist. if the anesthesiologist doesn't know what's he's doing or Hayes his job, u will be poked multiple times,  epidural will most likely fail,  u will feel the entire labor and delivery and u most likely will have long lasting pain from the shot. if UR anesthesiologist loves his job and knows what he's doing,  u will only be poked twice (numbing , then actual epidural ), u won't feel either shot, epidural will catch well, will be able to push right, won't feel pain, and won't have long lasting pains.
