If you are past like seven weeks, they should see a beat

I would think that an ultrasound would be more accurate detecting a heartbeat than a Doppler that far along.

When my doctor first listened for the heartbeat he said for me to not to be alarmed if we didn't hear anything, as it's rare that early. I was 9 weeks. 
We did eventually find it, but his words may be of help to you :) don't stress!
