Peppermint oil

I have a coworker who is INSANE about essential oils. Long story short she came up to me and put peppermint oil on my wrists. I've read some studies that it causes miscarriages. I washed my wrists with soapy water and changed tops to be safe.

Does anyone have any experiences with this? I am 7-8 weeks pregnant with my first and I am a little nervous about it alll. I hate the thought of something that happened like this being the reason I lose my baby.
