What age should a child sleep in their room?

What age do you think or have you trained your child into sleeping in their own room?

I'm not voting. there is no should. children and parents know what's best for them. I personally do so starting at a few months to 1 year old and it depends on if the child seems ready.

I honestly think they should start sleeping in their own room when both parents and the child feel ready. Those first years of the baby's life is crucial bonding time for them and their parents. I believe in that. My mom didn't start putting us in our own rooms until we were 3 or older. We just wanted our own rooms at that point.

My son started sleeping in his room at 6 weeks with me. 8 weeks he was in there alone.

We put our daughter in her own room at 5 months.

My son was sleeping in his own room when he was 6 weeks old, when he started sleeping through the night and my daughter started sleeping in her room at 23 months, which was when she finally started sleeping through the night.

I didn't sleep in my own room till I was 8, and even then I would just go into my brothers bed (we shared the same room after we stopped sleeping with my mom) and sleep with him. I didn't start sleeping in my own bed till middle school.

Bed sharing: Same room same bed. 
I am all for co-sleeping but after a year own room with monitor.
