"Pretty for a black woman"
How am I supposed to respond to this statement... First time I was told this I did not respond I just went silent. Am I supposed to say thank you?? I'm not the only black girl who has been told this, as my friends have either been told the same, or they know someone who has been told the same. Or am I over reacting?
