Any high school teachers? What traits are ideal for your job???

I'm a senior in high school, and absolutely terrified because I have no idea what I want to do with my life. I love English but don't want to be an author because I want the stability of working for someone (benefits, vacation time, etc).

If you're a high school teacher, what traits do you think make the best teachers?? Besides like organization, patience, etc. (since those are things I know you REALLY need)
