I have a 16 month old boy and we've just started trying last month. It works for us. I want my son to have someone to grow up with close to his age.

For me, personally I wanted my other child to be out of diapers. 
2 in diapers is a bit much. 
Our oldest and middle are 3 and a half years apart and our middle and soon to be youngest will be 3 years apart. 
But that's what works for our family.
Each one is different.
I've seen people who like the idea of having more than 1 kid in diapers.

How about you stay with only one? This planet is about to get really rough and we might die before it gets apocalyptic but present day babies will not
