Explain cell count and embryo grading?

Question

I had honestly never heard of the cell count or grading for embryos before our transfer. I didn't ask for details the day of mostly because I was on Valium and too sleepy to care but now I'm curious. What does all that mean? The doctor said our embryos were great quality but I don't know much more than what I have googled. How did your clinic explain it to you? These are our embryos.

Was this a 3 day fresh transfer? And how did this turn out? Ours looks similar!

This is the grading, our embryo was graded 6BA, fully hatched embryo with several sells, loosely grouped and many cells forming a cohesive layer.  My understanding is once hatched, they will implant sooner after Transfer.

By the looks of it you've had a day 2 transfer? Those embies aren't at the blastocyst stage yet, so those blast grades are meaningless really. Basically, your embryos should have at least 4 cells by day 2, 8 or more by day 3. The grading comes down to how many cells are present on each day and whether or not they are at the right stage. So if you did have a day 2 transfer then these look great! Very little fragmentation which is good as well. Best of luck :)
