IUD? Or Birth control?

Question

Honestly been thinking about getting on Birth control because my periods are heavy and super painful. I can't decide between an IUD and the pill. Which one helps with pain the most?  I'm a little worried about a IUD because my mom had one and she had it move up further than where it should be. But please leave suggestions !!

My gyno warned me that paragaurd would possibly make my periods and cramps worse, but other than getting cysts that burst sometimes(which is a terrible pain, but manageable and I'm a huge baby), I don't really ever get cramps and my period isn't ever heavy at all.. everyone's different though. One of my friends had mirena for a little bit and she was miserable, but others say they love it.. she also only had it do a couple months. Your body needs time to adjust. I honestly would recommend paragaurd, but just know that for the first like 5 months I had terrible pains from bursting ovarian cysts, but once I found out that was what the pain was, my doctor prescribed me pain relievers and they help a lot and that was months ago and I still have 3 of the 9 tablets I was given.. There were times, especially when it was first inserted, that I was in excruciating pain to the point that I'd cry and at one point I thought about going back on the xulane patch which ones in for 2 years, but I'm so glad I stuck it out cuz it's great! I'd say the only issues I have now are that my bf can feel it during sex if he goes to deep and it can cause some discomfort for me like the day after, but it's not like painful.. I've now had it for almost a year and am so glad I chose it cuz I don't do well with hormones due to having panic disorder and depression, which can be effected my medications and foreign hormones and chemicals in hormonal birth controls.. definitely talk to your doctor and/or go to an obgyn or planned parenthood and get some pamphlets on different options to see what's right for you, as well as what your insurance may or may not cover. I researched a lot before deciding both times I got new bc and I'm so glad I did cuz you definitely want to know what you're putting in your body and what your body may be sensitive to before trying it.
