Is it possible for areolas to get dry?

I've noticed both of my areolas have dry flaky skin, almost looks like a patch of freckles. They both have this underneath the nipples, just worse on my left one. Can this happen from time to time? And how can I hydrate them again?

I've always just put lotion on my boobs. now that I'm using stretch mark lotion I use it on my boobs along with my belly. idk if that will help you but I've never even had dry skin there

u can get lanolin it's meant for moms who breastfeed and their nips are dried out from it. It's amazing I actually use it for my lips because I have constant dry lips and everything I have tried to moisturize my lips has never worked until I got this stuff(heard it on a comment one time decided to try it out as a last resort)my lips feel amazing and never cracked or dry at all. If it does that for my lips I can only imagine how good it works for the intended purpose of It.

I think sea salt soaks could definitely cause your skin to become flaky and dry, however, as you seem to be aware, this can also be an early sign of breast cancer. Moisturizing is a good option, but please be extra attentive to other symptoms and see a doctor if it doesn't improve soon.

Yes totally possible. Try coconut oil or just whatever moisturizer you have on hand.
