menstrual cup

I have decided I would like to try a diva cup/period cup, whatever it is called. of the lady's that have used one do you have any tips, tricks, advice for a newbie?? I am nervous to put it in and I have an IUD so I know I have to make sure the strings are inside the cup. I am tired of pads, tampons, and all the money! thank you for any advice!
