First time dating outside my race. Positive Support only.
I've always been attracted to white men but I've never dated one; well until recently. I was very hesitant at first of what my friends and family would think about it so I kept it very hush hush for awhile. Plus I didn't think I was going to fall too hard for him because we were/are so different. He's more redneck outdoorsy while I'm more prissy. But the more we talked and spent time together the more I fell for him. I then eventually told my friends and family about him and surprisingly my parents were very supportive of it. While on the other hand my friends were not. I'm not saying all of them were against it but a few of them were. I just didn't understand where all of their negativity was coming from. Yes we are from two different cultural backgrounds but we make each other happy and that's all that should matter. Right ?! Right. As long as we both respect each other I think / know we will be fine. I just wished I had more supportive friends.
