Different forms of Birth Control

Hello...I'm 20 and sexually active. I've been on the pill since late middle school...not because I was active but because I had very terrible periods. Anyway, I travel a lot now and I want to find something else other than the pill. I went to the gynecologist today and we talked about the injection in your arm that is up to 3 years, IUD's and shots. The great thing about the injection is that it is long lasting. The downside to IUD's is that I would constantly be worried it's moving around (because my boyfriend sometimes hits my cervix during sex and I get crampy...so I can only imagine an IUD would come out) Lastly, the shot is a good option, I just would have to come back every three weeks which is a pain in general and then a copay each time.

What do you ladies take? If you have any information about the injection I would love to hear. Thank you!!!
