Why are so many of you scared to ask the person you're dating if you're exclusive

or in a relationship? I've seen too many posts trying to figure it out based on little clues and subtle signs. You say "he's acting like I'm his girlfriend". Why aren't you having a conversation about it? Why assume or guess? I don't understand. I mean it can be a little daunting in case he says he's not on the same page, but I think it's scarier to go on not knowing at all, and being surprised or upset later, after more time together, when you're in deeper.

Absolutely agree. I learned my lesson fast with a guy who "acted" like I was his gf but never made the move, then when we had the convo turned out he did not want a relationship. Go out and get what you want ladies and don't waste your time on people who aren't on the same page!

This was me. I had no idea what I was to him because he never clarified. Never asked me to be his girlfriend. It started out us going out on a date twice then me sleeping with him. We continued to do things and I would question "is he my boyfriend, we bought a blender together what does that mean". Finally, he said that I was his girlfriend. I was telling him to get new sheets and he said he was going to put in the comments "girlfriend adamant about new sheets" and that's when I knew. But don't be like me. Literally, I had so many stressful, sad, guessing days that I could have been happy knowing I wasn't wasting my time. Because that's what it felt like sometimes. I'm getting better at communicating. I don't want to upset anyone or change anything which is why I usually don't speak up or communicate. But that's no relationship.
