opk- right or wrong?

is the bottom one invalid? the corner is really dark, but towards the middle it goes lighter. took a strip test about an hour after. the strip tests were purchased in June and only used few times and stored it away, it says don't use 30 days after opening, but doesn't expire until 2018. which one could be right?
