My son is 5 weeks old today and he's had some blood in his poop for the last week. Nothing major and it's not in every diaper, however, he has bumps all over his stomach and back but I just assumed it was baby acne because I'm a FTM and I don't know anything about anything. 🙄 I took him to the pediatrician today and he told me to cut out dairy, nuts, and spicy foods from my diet and if that doesn't fix the problem by Monday, we'll have to try special formula. They're unsure if the rash and blood are tied together, if not they think he may be catching a virus based off of the bumps alone.

Has anyone dealt with something like this? I don't want to formula feed if I don't have to. My son is just a little fussier than usual but no other signs of a virus yet. Should I try get a second opinion?
