Do you waken your baby to feed during the day

Question

My baby girl is 15 weeks and usually would be in a routine of feeding. She usually wakens at 5.30am and would have 5 feeds throughout the day, every 4 hours, 5oz each time. HOWEVER, she threw a spanner in the works and didn't get up until 7am this morning and her next feed was about 10.40 and she would be due at 2.40, but she's sleeping and I don't know if I should waken her still during the day or wait until she wakens? Any advice would be greatly appreciated 🙈

I don't usually wake to feed, but we don't have a true daily schedule. He's got a pretty consistent schedule of his own, so the only times its different is when we have an appointment that interferes and I have to wake him to get him ready to go and then I'll either feed him then or feed him when we get to where we're going. And he goes to bed at the same time every single night no matter what his schedule looked like during the day lol

I usually won't wake to feed. She is mostly an every 3 hour feed. But sometimes she goes longer, or even skips a feed. She is doing just fine size and weight wise. She's also still ha I think lots of wet diapers and a poop a day, so I don't worry if for a day or two feedings are a little out of whack. I also like to try to plan feeds to be ready for bedtime. But with her sleep regression, teething and growth spurt, things are out of whack anyway.

I would wake to feed but that's just because we have to have more of a schedule to fit our lifestyle. You do what works for you and your baby and letting them sleep long stretches by day can ruin night time sleep sometimes so just be attentive to how long she's napping and go from there. I don't let a nap go over 2 hours by day. We're on a pretty routine schedule of 2 hours awake and about an hour and half to 2 hours for a nap 3 times a day.

It really all depends. I try to make sure the times work out so he can stay on time with his bedtime. But sometimes it's hard. Especially because my LO goes to daycare and they feed him when he's hungry. They don't wake him to feed him if he's napping.  During the week since I work I unfortunately need to wake him to feed him before taking him to daycare but on weekends I let him sleep as late as he wants which is usually 6/630. The only feeding I think I'd actually wake him to feed if he is asleep is around 6 pm because then he eats again goes to bed around 9 pm. Do whatever works for you. If you really want to stick to a schedule you can always wake her but if you'd rather her just let you know when she's ready you can let her sleep. Again the only reason I do wake him at 6 pm if he is napping is because I've really been trying to stick to a bedtime routine for him.
