Is it okay to adopt a pot belly pig as your pet?

I just saw this couple walking a small pot belly pig and their pit bull down the street. How often do you see that????

I have many pigs and a potbellied pig. You just need a lot of space and should also be aware that they will root up anything they can with their noses so if you don't have a yard where they can dig up some dirt then I don't really suggest it. But if you do then I totally recommend getting one. They are so cute and lovable and really do act like dogs.

If you keep them outside most of the time, snd have a vet in the area that will see them. But id get a teacup pig or somthing because pot belly pigs get HUGE

a pot belly big? They get huge. I know pick a mini pig over a put belly. However that shows pits arnt always dangerous

I lived in a house that had one. Pot belly pigs are destructive when they want to get somewhere that's closed off. They're loud and like others have said they're very smart. They make a lot of waste so be prepared to clean up if you want to keep their place tidy. They need plenty of land to roam and lots of water to keep cool in the summer. They need to be brushed regularly cause they do shed periodically. Honestly, I would not recommend unless you have time and resources to care for one. They're great garbage disposals, love belly rubs, and certainly have personalities of their own.

They are generally 125-225 pounds. They are smart but shouldn't be kept inside as it can stretch their bladder muscle so it won't work anymore. They are cute though. Be prepared most vets won't see them so you'll have to find a specialist most likely. When they get sick there is only so much that can be done.
