Baby inhaled water in the bath?

So earlier I gave our 3 week old baby a bath and she was squirming and screaming and while I was pouring water on her chest I accidentally poured some into her mouth and i think she inhaled some of it as she was screaming. It's been at least 12 hours but I just noticed my baby coughing and I have no idea why. I'm worried about dry drowning. It's 6am here and my pedi doesn't open until later in the morning what should I do?? Should I be worried??

If you're worried, it won't hurt to get her checked out ❤️ I'm having my second soon, but recently my 17 month old was at a toddler pool party, and for some odd reason wanted to dive face first into water. I watched her for a loooooong time. Those fears don't go away just because they grow older. Dry drowning is one of my worst fears, and if she hadn't been acting as normal as she was (no coughing even) then I would've taken her in. But that's just me, I'm paranoid and going to the doctor won't do anything but ease your mind.
You never stop worrying about them! Even if you're a 5th time mommy lol 😂

I'm sure she will be fine. You can always call the pediatrician to make sure. When my daughter was about a month old we were giving my daughter a bath. We were putting her in the sink with very little water. My husband just put her in thinking she would sit in it and under the water she went for like a millionth of a second. She actually closed her mouth. Didn't cry or anything. She was fine. We were first time parents

Aspiration (breathing in water) can cause pneumonia, which is very dangerous. It's best to just call your child's doctor and go from there.
